LUCANIA. Metapontum. Punic occupation, circa 215-207 BC. 1/2 Shekel (Silver, 19 mm, 3.91 g, 9 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. META barley grain with five kernels and leaf to right; on leaf, owl with spread wings perched right. HN III 1634. Robinson p.50, no. 3 and pl. VI.6. SNG ANS 550. Lightly toned, very sharp and pretty. Good extremely fine.
