ΜΕΣΣΑΝ-A The Nymph Messana, wearing long chiton and holding whip in her right hand and the reins in both, driving biga of mules to left; in exergue, two opposed dolphins. Rev. ΜΕΣ-Σ-ΑΝ-ΙΟ-Ν Hare springing to right; below, dolphin swimming to right. Caltabiano 514 (D205'/R213). SNG ANS 366 (same dies). SNG Fitzwilliam 1076 (same dies). Well-struck, clear and nicely toned. Struck on a slightly ragged flan and with some minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
