ΑΚΑ-Ν-ΘΙΟ-Ν Quadripartite square with granulated surfaces; all within shallow incuse square. AMNG 22 (same obverse die) = Desneux 103 var. (D100/R-). HGC 3.1, 385. SNG ANS -. Tselekas Period E, 288 var. (O258/R266, this combination not recorded). Struck on a broad flan and most pleasing. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
From a European collection, formed prior to 2005.

The letters on the obverse refer to the magistrate who was responsible for the coinage, but their placement clearly show them being used as brand mark, thus suggesting this is a domesticated bull rather than a wild one.
