Serial Number 1 Bermuda Bermuda Government 1 Pound 20.10.1952 Pick 20a PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. After the passing of King George VI in February, 1952, Queen Elizabeth II ascended the British throne and replaced her father on paper notes across the globe. Bermuda was one of the first colonies to adopt the new royal portrait, as this note is dated 20 October, 1952. This note is the very first 1 Pound note for Bermuda bearing the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, as evidenced by the serial number A/1 000001. An incredible note, and outstanding with this very first serial number. Ex David Saul collection lot 67, sold in 2013 for £8,500.
