Serial Number 1 Bermuda Bermuda Government 10 Pounds 28.7.1964 Pick 22 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Bermuda issued a 10 Pound note dated 1964 in response to rising inflation that plagued Britain and its colonies in the 1960s. This example is well embossed, Uncirculated, and most importantly the very first note issued, bearing serial number A/1 000001. This is the only 10 Pound note issued for Bermuda and its lifespan was short, making this a rarely seen type with any serial number. Only a few hundred thousand were issued, and nearly all were redeemed as Bermuda adopted a decimal currency scheme in 1970. Arguably the most impressive Bermuda 10 Pound note extant and worthy of serious consideration. Ex David Saul collection lot 81, sold in 2013 for £15,000.
