Cyprus Government of Cyprus 5 Shillings 30.10.1914 Pick 3s Specimen PMG About Uncirculated 53. A rare Specimen that is one of only two graded notes registered in the PMG Population Report. The lowest denomination of the first series of notes ordered by the Cyprus Government from TDLR, this 5 Shillings note is printed in blue on watermarked paper and has a relatively simple design with a profile portrait of the reigning monarch, King George V, and a version of his royal coat of arms serving as the main design. Serving as a Specimen to familiarize government officials and money handlers with this new design, the note has a solid zero serial number and is perforated CANCELLED. Traces of mounting residue along the left border are mentioned for accuracy. Ex Spink's World Banknote sale 15009, lot 214, sold in 2015 for £18,500.
