Cyprus Government of Cyprus 10 Pounds 30.6.1917 Pick 10s Specimen PMG Very Fine 25 Net. A true rare type with this being the sole graded example registered in the PMG Population Report. The £10 note remained in circulation from its introduction in 1917 until it was demonetized in 1926 due to concerns over counterfeiting. This Specimen was probably created in 1917 as either a presentation or informational piece. In true Specimen style, it is stamped as such in the lower right margin, has a solid zero serial number, and is perforated CANCELLED. Comments of paper damage and previous mounting are mentioned by the grading company but overall eye appeal is still present. Ex Spink's World Banknote sale 16015, lot 400, sold in 2016 for £17,500.
