Bermuda ND (1935) P-3b PMG Extremely Fine 40 5/- Shillings
A wonderful and scarce type from Bermuda that seldom is available in any grade. This is the second variety for the type, which is undated but was issued into circulation in 1936. Signature seen is that of the Colonial Treasurer, John Trimingham, whose ancestors were among the earliest inhabitants of Bermuda, arriving on the island around 1620. This is a very challenging denomination to find in better circulated grades, as the type circulated extensively and had a fairly short-lived period in circulation. The fact that just 40,000 notes of this variety were printed does not help it either. The note itself is a nice problem-free example, with strong color and originality that can clearly be seen in the PMG holder. An important opportunity for the Bermuda specialist.
