Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, hair in ampyx inscribed [ΓEY]; small [IA] above head, [garment clasp] on right shoulder (details noted are frequently not visible on examples of this die; per Lorber all known examples include die break on chin) / Bridled horse with bucranium brand on rump crouching right, preparing to roll; small AI below belly, ΛΑΡΙΣΑΙ in exergue. Lorber, Early 19.3. L-S Group 3, Head Type 14, dies O33/R5. BCD Thessaly II 209. HGC 4, 434. Very Fine; light attractive toning with slight iridescence; elegant high relief style; particularly well centered and pleasing obverse. Scarce signed die.
