Civil War. AD 68-69. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.18 g, 10h). 'S P Q R Group'. Uncertain mint in Gaul or Rhine Valley. Struck circa May/June-December AD 68. Victory standing right on globe, holding wreath in right hand and palm frond over left shoulder / S P · Q R within laurel wreath. RIC I 73b var. (oak wreath); AM 78 var. (same); RSC 421 var. (same). Deeply toned, some reverse deposits, small edge chips. Good VF. Extremely rare variety, one of three known specimens with a laurel wreath.
