Lambayeque Effigy. A rare Lambayeque (Sican) effigy from Peru, ca. 700 – 1300 AD. This seated figure is 8" high and depicts a soldier with his hands resting on his knees. He is wearing the typical pointed helmet and an unusual necklace. The man is depicted whistling, a rare feature and a wad of coca is bulging out his left cheek.
