SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Antiochos I Soter, 281-261 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.07 g, 3 h), Seleukeia on the Tigris. Diademed head of Antiochos I to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left, monogram of AP; to outer right, monogram of ΗΡ. ESM 149. SC 378.3. A beautiful piece with a very impressive early Hellenistic portrait. A few light marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
