PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy III Euergetes, 246-222 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 14.05 g, 12 h), Sidon, RY 2 = 246/5. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around neck. Rev. ΠΤΟΛΕΜΑΙΟΥ - [ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ] Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt; to left, ΣΙ above NI; to right, B above monogram of ΗΛ. CPE 814. SNG Copenhagen -. Svoronos 1025. Beautifully toned and with a particularly impressive portrait. Light marks and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
