MAXIMIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Maximianus to left. Rev. SECVRIT[AS S]AECVLI Securitas seated left, holding scepter in her right hand and leaning her head on her left. Aurum Barbarorum III, 2412 (same dies). Suspension loop broken off. Pierced and with minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
From the Aurum Barbarorum Collection.
This coin combines a tetrarchic obverse of Maximianus with a reverse of Probus (Calicó 4189-4198). It is worth noting that although the legends on both dies are in decent Latin, the execution of the letters varies widely, indicating that the dies were crafted by different individuals.
