PALMYRENE, Palmyra. Pseudo-autonomous issue. 2nd century AD. Æ (15mm, 2.41 g, 9h). Facing bust of Baal, wearing polos, between radiate bust of the sun-god Yarhibol right and bust of the moon-god Aglibol left / Nike left, holding palm and setting scales on baetyl. Krzyźanowska, Monnayage type I; De Saulcy p. 64, 1; Du Buisson p. 722 and fig. 306. Fine, partial green–brown patina, bare metal revealed in places, rough surfaces.
