FRENCH INDIA: AR rupee (11.57g), "Murshidabad", year 21, KM-27, in the name of Muhammad Shah; actually struck at Chandernagar under French administration, distinguished by the 5-petal flower to right of the regnal year, VF, RRR, ex Charles W. Lueders Collection. The Governor of Chandernagar, Mr. Dupleix, obtained coining rights in 1738 and struck rupees, halves and quarters dated 1151/21 and 1152/22, all extremely rare.
