MEXICO: Republic, AE 2 centavos, 1890, KM-NC21, medallic issue struck to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Independence, PCGS graded Specimen 65 BN. In 1890, the German firm of L. Chr. Lauer of Nuremberg issued a series of patterns for Mexico in copper and copper-nickel. Twenty-one designs were struck, all with a common obverse with different reverses for the various states and one commemorating the 80th anniversary of Mexican independence.
