UNITED STATES: LOT of 60 Anillo restrike maverick tokens, all aluminum, generally Choice UNC, about 60% attributable by Kappen, the others either unidentified or from other states, in consignor's 2x2 holders; retail value $600, lot of 60 pieces. The dies of the Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co. were purchased in 1967 by Anillo Industries, Inc. of Orange, CA. In order to assess what the company had bought, sample sets of uniface pieces were produced from the token dies in aluminum. Apparently, 22 complete sets were made according to Charles Kappen.
