UNITED STATES: LOT of 60 uniface Anillo restrike good-for tokens, including from California: Ontario (1 pc), Oxnard (5), Pasadena (9), Pico Rivera (1), Pomona (1), Porterville (1), Reseda (2), Roscoe (1), Roseville (1), Sacramento (2), San Bernadino (1), San Diego (9), San Dimas (1), San Fernando (1), San Gabriel Mission (1), San Jose (2), San Luis Obispo (3), San Pedro (1), Santa Ana (2), Santa Barbara (2), Santa Maria (4), Santa Monica (7), and Santa Paula (2); generally in Choice UNC, in consignor's holders; retail value $600, lot of 60 tokens. The dies of the Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co. were purchased in 1967 by Anillo Industries, Inc. of Orange, CA. In order to assess what the company had bought, sample sets of uniface pieces were produced from the token dies in aluminum. Apparently, 22 complete sets were made according to Charles Kappen.
