GHAZNAVID: Mas'ud I, 1030-1041, AR presentation dirham (13.36g), Balkh, A-1621R, same legends as the common dirhams of Mas'ud I struck at Balkh (type A-1620), but on a very thick broad planchet; citing the caliph al-Qadir, so should be dated 421, 422, or possibly even 423 (seems like xx1 for 421, but unclear); unpublished and unique, VF, RRRR. Similar in style and appearance to the presentation dirham in the name of Mahmud, struck at Balkh and dated AH415 (sold in our Auction 45, Lot 722).
