GREAT MONGOLS: Anonymous, ca. 1225-1250, AR dirham (1.23g), Jand, ND, A-3715J, kalima // name of caliph al-Nasir, mint name above; above average quality, with only about 10% flat strike, VF. Local issue of Jand (now in Kazakhstan), first discovered in the 1970s and published by V.N. Nastich in 1981, but until 2016, none had been offered on the market. This type will be listed in the 4th edition of the Checklist of Islamic Coins.
