KADAMBAS OF GOA: Anonymous, 10th/11th century, AV pagoda (3.76g), Mitch-KA, majestic roaring lion standing facing left with tail curled on the back and a front leg raised, temple in front // ornamental trident at the top, Nagari legend sri malaha / raman ("conqueror of the Malavas"); dotted circle around on both sides; superb strike, choice AU, RRR. There are three varieties of this type, all with same lion and reverse legend, but different symbols to left of the lion: filleted standard, temple, or kalasha (vase).
