Afonso VI Counterstamped 500 Reis ND (1663) VF35 NGC, KM36-38, LMB-30. Crowned S00 counterstamp applied on a Portugal João IV 400 Reis (Cruzado) from the Porto mint. Particularly attractive for the issue, the stamp well applied and the scarcer host in a higher state of preservation. Arguably undegraded, this piece shows little to no wear to the boldly struck stamp, one that did not affect the pleasing appeal of the also sharp Porto cross.
