AH720(1320) INDIA SULTANS OF DELHI NASIR AL-DIN KHUSRU G1T AU 58
Delhi Sultan, Nasir Al-Din Khusru Shah (AH 720, 1320 AD), Gold Tanka, Hadrat Delhi Mint (fully visible at 7 o'clock in margin on rev), G&G # D290, extremely rare.

Nasir Al-Din Khusru Shah was a Sultan of Delhi who ruled from 1320 AD to 1325 AD. He was the successor of Sultan Ghiyasuddin Tughlaq and the founder of the Khusrav dynasty.

Khusrau Khan was the Sultan of Delhi for around two months in 1320. Originally from the Gujarat region, he was captured by the Delhi army during Alauddin Khalji's conquest of Malwa in 1305.

Khusru was a former Hindu slave from Gujarat and his Hindu name is still a mystery, Qutb al-Din Mubarak had elevated him to high position, Khusru showed his gratitude by having the sultan assassinated whereupon he ascended the Dehli throne with the title Nasir al-Din Khusru Shah. His usurpation however did not last long and before the year was out he was captured in battle and executed.

Khusru Shah's reign was ultimately cut short when he was assassinated in 1325 by his own nephew, who then took the throne as Sultan Muhammad bin Tughlaq.
