(BDM III, 267-8; BM Acq. 1978-82, p.16, 79); Exposition Internationale, Antwerp, 1930, octagonal bronze medal, by Josuë Dupon (1864-1935) for Fonson, Neptune watches African boy playing a trumpet-horn, aeroplane and ship above and beyond, rev. naked female riding side-saddle on a horse, port behind, 80mm. (BM Acq. 1978-82, p.15, 64), both extremely fine; small medals (2) for exposition in 1888, 1894 (4)
The 1897 exhibition was the first Universal Exposition held in Brussels; both the large medals are evocative of the period when they were struck.
