ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 165-42 BC. AR  tetradrachm (39mm, 16.40 gm, 12h).  "New Style" issue, ca. 159/8 BC (Thompson dated 191/0 BC), Eudoros (?) and Po- as magistrates. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet ornamented with vine scroll / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; A-ΘE, club and two monograms below, all within laurel wreath. Thompson 24 (same obverse die). Very rare! Struck on an immense flan from highly artistic dies. Lightly double-struck, with a few resulting striking flaws, otherwise Choice Extremely Fine.
