AEOLIS. Aegae. Ca. 160-150 BC. AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.76 gm, 11h). Laureate head of Apollo right, quiver and tip of bow ending in swan's head over shoulder / ΑΙΓΑΙΕΩΝ, Zeus standing left, holding vertical scepter and eagle, monogram in inner left field, all within oak wreath. SNG von Aulock 1594. SNG Berry 990. Rare! A decent example of one of the tougher stephanophoric tetradrachms. Lightly toned Good Very Fine. From The Andre Constantine Dimitriadis Collection.
