IONIA. Magnesia ad Meandrum. Ca. 155-145 BC. AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.59 gm, 12h). Herognetos, son of Zopyrionos, magistrate. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder / HPOΓNHTOΣ ZOΠYPIΩNOΣ to left, MAΓNHTΩN right, Apollo standing left, left arm resting on tall tripod behind, holding branch tied with fillet in right hand; to right, meander pattern below; all within laurel wreath. Jones 27a. SNG von Aulock 7921. Deeply struck, particularly on reverse, with much original mint luster. Light scattered green verdigris, otherwise Nearly Mint State.
