CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB CAES, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II right / FELIX PROC-ESSVS COS III, Constantine II standing left, togate, holding globe in right hand and baton in left; in exergue, SIRM. RIC --. cf. VII 57 (same reverse type for Crispus). Cohen 107 variant. Depeyrot 4/2 variant (COS II). Extremely rare, possibly unique! NGC (photo-certificate) Choice XF 5/5 - 4/5. From The Andre Constantine Dimitriadis Collection. Ex Dreesmann Collection (Spink London, 13 April 2000), lot 152; M&M Basel List 461 (November/December 1983), no. 50. RIC records this reverse type for Crispus in AD 324/5, but shows no coin of this type for Constantine II. Two other solidi of a similar type, but COS II, are known to exist, but a search of auction archives and museum collections has turned up no other coins of COS III with this reverse type.
