George V Specimen 10 Cents 1921, Ottawa mint, KM23a, SP66 PCGS. Besides the famed 1936 Dot dime that grabs headlines at every offering, the 1921 Specimen dime is quite likely the most desired special striking made during the reign of George V. Adding to that fact, this is our first offering of this rare denomination - and what a lovely piece it is! A premium Gem, and nearly Superb, the surfaces were clearly lovingly preserved and the devices boldly hammered. The tone, reflective of the box that it certainly rested in for many years, is a pleasing brownish-gray with the underlying satin texture producing a wonderfully pearly appeal. Consultation of published census data confirms the dates rarity - only four examples have been grade by PCGS (none by NGC) with the present piece being tied for the finest known. A great coin and one of the numerous highlights in this world-class collection. From The Prager Collection of Canadian Specimen Coins
