Newfoundland. Victoria Specimen 5 Cents 1865, London mint, KM2, SP64 PCGS. Plain Edge - Medal Alignment. An amazing second example of this prohibitively rare 5 cent piece in Specimen format. Less patinated than the first with delicate graces of golden color on both sides, and as a result, fully glittering reflectively in the fields. A premium example for the grade, light handling is almost entirely limited to the field to the left of Victoria, with most observed lines being artifacts of die polishing (as made). Cataloged as pattern NF-8 in the Norweb sale, but incorrectly so, with the reverse arches being of standard dimension and other die markers, such as the repunched 186 in the date, matching the previous lot entirely.Ex: Norweb Collection (B&M 11/96, Lot-735).From The Prager Collection of Canadian Specimen Coins
