Honan. Empire brass Specimen Pattern 10 Cash ND (1904-1905), CCC-520, Specimen 65 PCGS. Superbly struck with full mint-red color and prooflike fields. A stunning example of this issue, engraved by the U.S. mint engraver Charles Barber and struck by the Ferracute Machine Company of Bridgeton, NJ. An extremely rare Pattern issue and only the second piece we have seen offered. (Baldwin's Auctions in their April 2013 sale, Lot 474, a Specimen 63 sold for $22,000 plus the buyer's fee). We doubt you will find a finer example in the few remaining pieces.
Estimate: 20000-25000 USD
