Szechuan. Brass 50 Cent (3 Mace and 6 Candareens) Pattern ND (1898), KM-Pn13, MS63 NGC. Type of KM237, and L&M 347. A near-flawless strike, with slight spotting, and light toning, over golden surfaces. A few minor marks are noted, but the overall appearance is exceptional for this rare type. This is the only example of the extremely rare pattern issue that we have offered and the finest we have seen. As far as we can determine, this is the first time this rare pattern issue has been offered for sale at public auction. This example is identical in style to the previous 20 Cent pattern, displaying the careful engraving and bold strike one might expect of a pattern designed by Charles Barber and struck in the U.S.

Estimate: 25000-30000 USD
