Charles II gold cob 2 Escudos ND (ca. 1667-1693), Nuevo Reino mint, KM14.1, Restrepo-M66, MS62 NGC. Mint state but struck on a small flan so much of the legends do not show. The numerals of the King's name "II" can be discerned to the left of the clear NR mintmark, itself placed to the left of the shield. As indicated by Restrepo, the pointed extensions of the main bars of the cross appear on cobs of assayers Soto Maldonado (rarer) and Pedro Garcia. This would appear to be one of the latter.
Estimate: 800-1200 USD
