Menelik II silver Pattern 1 Birr EE1892 (1899), Without Paris Mint Privy Marks in Exergue on Reverse, similar to Gill-M4, but different date and this piece has a raised, lettered edge, MS63 NGC. Sharply detailed, as one might expect of a special striking, with rich gray and gold toning. All regular issue pieces of this type, dated EE1892, have the Paris mint privy marks on the reverse. This is the first, and only, example we have seen without these marks. Exceedingly rare.From The Formosa Collection
