Philippe VI (1328-50) gold Écu d'or à la chaise ND, 2nd Emission, from 10 April 1343, Fr-270, Duplessy-249A, MS63 PCGS. + PhILIPPVS : DЄI x | x GRA x | FRAnCORVM : RЄX, King seated on Gothic throne, a sword in his right hand and his left supporting a shield / + XP'C : VInCIT : XP'C : RЄGИAT : XP'C : IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée with voided quatrefoil in center and at the ends of the limbs, leaves in angles; all within a quadrilobe with trefoils in spandrels. A very choice piece despite some minor die corrosion around the obverse legends. The reverse is particularly appealing.
