Charles IX gold Écu d'or au soleil 1565-H, La Rochelle mint, Fr-378, Duplessy-1057, AU58 NGC. Incorrectly attributed by NGC as Fr-379, this is a lustrous piece struck from lightly rusted dies, bright and very appealing. The L an X in the date are stamped almost on top of one another, appearing at first glance to be a K.
