Great Britain
Oliver Cromwell Shilling 1658, ESC-1005, S-3228, XF40 NGC. An excellent example of this popular type with attractive silvery-gray patina and lightly hairlined fields. This piece features the laureate, draped bust of Cromwell and the crowned shield. While the exact mintage is unknown, many of these coins did not survive the Restoration of the Monarchy, and those that did endure are typically encountered in far worse shape than this specimen.
