Anne gold Coronation Medal by Croker 1702, 34.9mm, 18.4g, MI-228-4, AU58 NGC. A superior example of this rare type, the only issue distributed at the coronation by the Treasurer of the Household. The surfaces are bright and exhibit only faint handling in the fields. The strike is superb, yielding a marvelous portrait and reverse allegorical scene featuring Anne as Pallas wielding the bolts of Jupiter against a grotesque France. Extremely uncommon and very desirable thus.
