George I silver Proof Farthing 1717, KM-PnD34, P-785, PR63 PCGS. Plain edge - Regular flan. So-called "Dump" issue. A lovely copper denomination struck in silver and deeply toned in gunmetal shades. Close inspection reveals a trifle of handling that defines the grade, but the eye-appeal remains exceptional. Accompanied with the iconic spiderweb ticket of the Norweb Collection where it was catalog as the thin edge variety (P-786). Ex: C.W. Peck (1968); Ex: E.M.H. Norweb (13/XI/85), Lot 522; Ex: H.E. Manville, Lot 667.
Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
