George II Proof Shilling 1746, S-3704, Old Laureate Head, engrailed edge, PR65 PCGS, a gorgeous example with reflective surfaces, the reverse showing some bright golden iridescence over the bluish gray base color. Rare. One hundred sets of four denominations of the silver coinage of this type were made by the Royal Mint for purchase by well-heeled collectors of the day, the first "modern" proof set.
