Victoria Penny 1869, KM749.2, S-3954, MS65 Brown PCGS. A key date for the Victoria "Bun Head" type, and seldom found in any form of Mint State, with fully pleasing mark-free surfaces that hold a touch of original orange-red color in the protected areas. Further inspection reveals mixed yellow and blue tone that accounts for the "Brown" designation and surprisingly lustrous fields. Light granularity is noted in the field to the left of Victoria's neck. Truly elite at the Gem grade and similar in quality to the PCGS graded MS65 RB that we sold in our 2013 Long Beach auction for $9,400. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $400 in VF, $1400 in EF, $3000 in UNC.
Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
