Victoria gold Half Sovereign 1846, KM735.1, S-3859, MS65 PCGS. A magnificent Gem, well struck and minimally marked with dazzling luster in the fields and a sheath of rich yellow tone around the outer edges that trumpets originality. Close inspection with a loupe reveals a widely recut "D" in DEI and "R" in GRATIA around the obverse legends that further adds character to the piece. The sole finest example thus far graded by PCGS and NGC and as such, an exceptional opportunity for the specialist or collector of fine type. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $160 in VF, $450 in EF, $800 in UNC.
Estimate: 4000-5000 USD
