Victoria gold Sovereign 1838, KM736.1, S-3852, MS63 PCGS. The first year of production for the Victoria Sovereign and a much better date for the "young head" type with a nearly full strike that leaves all but a couple of the lions in the reverse shield fully detailed and charming mint bloom that conveys absolute originality. A relatively lightly marked example for the grade, only a couple ticks on Victoria's portrait are evident upon first inspection. Sure to attract significant collector attention. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $1000 in VF, $2000 in EF, $3750 in UNC.
Estimate: 5000-6000 USD
