Victoria gold 5 Pounds 1893, KM787, S-3872, MS64 PCGS. Mintage: 20,000. Widely used as an intra-bank unit and as such, many were eventually melted down, leaving few truly nice examples for today's collectors. The present example, qualifying as Choice for the type, has abundant mint bloom atop vibrant orange-gold surfaces. Relatively few marks confirm the grade. A visual delight and currently tied for the finest graded at PCGS. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $1600 in VF, $2000 in EF, $3500 in UNC.
Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
