Archbishop Germanos of Patras copper Medal by Lange 1821 (1836), 44mm, 47.21g, Meletopoulos-1, UNC. Dated 1821 but struck in 1836 on the marriage of King Otho to Queen Amalia, this is a beautiful and very glossy brown medal featuring the Archbishop raising a standard between two soldiers at the start of the Greek War of Independence from Turkey. A tiny reverse rim bump at one o'clock is noted. Lightly toned surfaces exhibit electric-blue highlights.
