Republic 6 1/4 Centimes 1846, Paris mint, KM29, MS65 BN PCGS. Gem Uncirculated, very well struck, virtually free of contact marks with glossy dark chocolate surfaces and thus in unusually high state of preservation. This issue, together with the companion 1 and 2 Centimes, was commissioned to the Paris mint through privateers Trelon, Weldon et Weyl. The coins were finally shipped on the French brick La Glaneuse on June 30, 1847. These three issues are of much higher quality than the comparable ones minted previously and as a result, when high grade examples such as the present piece come to the market, they represent unusually attractive coins.
