Maximilian gold 20 Pesos 1866-Mo, Mexico City mint, KM389, Mint State. Upon close inspection, this example appears to be struck on a very slightly wavy planchet, as evidenced by the asymmetry of the rim's height. Handsome rich reddish toning and highly lustrous surfaces, while faint adjustment marks near the date and mintmark remain unobtrusive. With a reported mintage of 8,274 pieces, this is a scarce one-year type rarely encountered in Mint State.
