Charles II gold cob 2 Escudos 1698 C-M, Cuzco mint, KM28, Cal-122, MS63 NGC. Significantly lightweight at 5.9 grams, thus probably gently smoothed at the edges to achieve a rounder flan after it was struck. Related tooling is visible near the crown. Nevertheless, well-centered with no apparent wear and good eye-appeal. A still impressive example of this rarity, most probably from the 1715 Fleet.
Estimate: 4000-6000 USD
