Republic copper Pattern Centimo 1855, Philadelphia mint, KM-Pn7, MS64 Red and Brown NGC, 10.43 grams. Well struck and with exceptional eye-appeal. From the series of patterns dated 1855 engraved by James Longacre, which were the first coinage for a foreign nation ever struck in the Philadelphia mint. The gold denominations are extremely rare, the silver ones very rare, while the copper ones appear from time to time. Nevertheless, choice pieces such as the present one are very elusive. Ex: Dana Roberts collection.
